Stephen E. Abbott
Director of Public Engagement
Stephen Abbott is director of public engagement for the Great Schools Partnership and New England Secondary School Consortium, and editor of the Glossary of Education Reform. He is veteran writer, editor, and communications professional, and he frequently advises, consultants, and presents on communications, messaging, and public-engagement strategies for educational organizations, districts, and schools. As the project director for a regional school-community engagement initiative, much of Stephen’s work is also focused on dismantling structural inequities in public education and elevating the voices of students, families, and community members in school governance and decision-making. Stephen graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a BA in literature and literary theory and formerly worked for Columbia University Press in New York.
