Danielle Pierre is joining the Great Schools Partnership team as a senior associate with a deep commitment to supporting the development of school environments where all students feel academically challenged and known as individuals.

Danielle graduated from Spelman College in 2009 and earned her M.Ed. with a math concentration at Georgia State University through a partnership with Teach for America. Danielle taught 4th grade for two years in Atlanta Public Schools and then returned to her hometown, Boston, where she taught 5th and 6th grade at Brooke Charter Schools. While in the classroom, Danielle received The Boston Foundation’s “Change Maker Award” in recognition for her work leading students to academic excellence.

After spending six years in the classroom, Danielle moved into school leadership and served as a middle school assistant principal for three years and then as a founding principal for four years. During her leadership, Danielle focused her efforts on supporting teachers and school leaders in building a culture of achievement by promoting rigorous curriculum, effective coaching, and remaining committed to educational equity.

Danielle currently lives in Auburn, Maine, and enjoys serving at her church and in the community with her husband. Danielle also enjoys doing Zumba, traveling, and eating seafood at new restaurants.
